hello week
Next week our school will be participating in Start with Hello week, a national initiative from the Sandy Hook Promise Foundation. This program teaches students the power of reaching out and including others, helping create a culture of kindness and connection. Through simple actions like saying hello, we can help prevent social isolation and make our community a more welcoming place for everyone.
Interested in helping out? We have several volunteer opportunities, many of which do not require district clearance!
hound hustle jog-a-thon
Our biggest fundraiser of the year is just around the corner! The annual Hound Hustle Jog-a-thon will officially kick off September 29, but you can register your student as soon as September 15th. Register your student, begin collecting pledges, then join us on Friday, October 10th to watch the students run and raise money for our school.
We will need several volunteers for this event, so make sure you get cleared with the district before then! Visit joehendersonptg.org/getting-cleared for more information, or email volunteers@joehendersonptg.org with questions. Click the link below to sign up for a volunteer slot.

JOECHELLA
Our biggest community event of the year is back, and it’s a fan favorite! Join us on October 18th for a day of live music, games, food trucks, and more. This event won’t be possible without our amazing volunteers, so please check out the signup and grab a shift (or two!) if you can. The more hands we have, the bigger the event and the lighter the load for everyone.

raffle baskets
Raffle baskets are back! Every year, each class creates a themed basket to be raffled off at Joechella. We are looking for coordinators from every class to collect donations (items or money) and assemble the basket. If you’re up for the challenge, please contact your teacher and let them know!
THANK YOU!
Thank you to everyone who came out for our back-to-school Ice Cream Social! Over 500 scoops of ice cream were served! We would also like to thank Double Rainbow Cafe for their generous support of our school. This event is one of our favorites, kicking off the year with community and of course ice cream.

The school year has started off smoothly! Teachers are busy doing assessments and looking at data to support students.
If parents/guardians are interested in looking at assessment data and how goals are created for the school, please thinking about joining the School Site Council (SSC) held once a month on Thursdays at 2:45pm.
We have new buddy benches were added by a local Eagle Scout Abby Mulugeta. Thank you to Abby for helping beautify our school!
